Johannesburg attorney, Malcolm Lyons, who was elected to the board of governors of the Association of Trial Lawyers of American, shared honours with now famous Erin Brokovich.

At the same ATLA convention, Ms Brokovich received the consumer champion award for her work in uncovering the contamination of the Hinckley California water supply, as documented in the eponymous film.
